Crazy, yet fun

Guess what?
I actually won something.
Yeah, I did!

Check out my loot from Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness!
There is a huge tub of Vega Protein Powder and many, many samples, a book and bag, and so much more!!
This was awesome because I was looking for different protein powders.
You see, honestly, I am allergic to dairy.
I'm NOT lactose intolerant.
I'm allergic.  I have been since birth.
As I've grown older, I can handle a little better, but there are times, oh my!
It's like runny nose, chest congested with mucous, crazy-ness.
Unfortunately, I love the stuff.
And here's a little too much info note, whey protein, though I have always used it wreaks havoc on me and my, um, intestinal system.
This has come at the perfect time for me to sample some various forms of other protein.
I also hit up Sun Warrior and they sent me some samples to test as well.
So, YaY for goodies!!

Remember how I said death was a magnet to me?
Well, 2 days after finding out about our friend, I was contacted by a friend from high school who told me that a classmate of ours was found dead.
Hence, why I was absent for a bit.
I really didn't want to post a bunch of sad posts.

In other goings on, we've been back working on the Peanut.
Here's a bunch of what we've done.
Sketching the archs to make rafters.
Pile of rafters.
 First victim. And
it's up.
Half way there.
And here's the rest!
We just have to make the end rafters this weekend and put them up and then the supports through the center.

Gypsy style craziness coming along. =D
This is also part of my activity on the weekend.
Though I get lots of cuts, scratches and bruises, it's a workout in and of itself!

.

Death seems to love me.
I kid you not.
Since Friday, my nights have been broken with dreams of death, blood and me actually murdering people.
I have had more people around me die than I could count on all of my fingers and toes, plus my husband's.
I have been having unexplainable panic and anxiety.

My father-in-law called to tell us that they found the body of a friend of ours.
They believe it was suicide.
This is far too many of those I know who have ended it this way.
I had just asked S this past week if he had heard from him lately.
This breaks my heart that we have not kept our friends as close as we used to, even through 2000 miles.
I have the urge to go back home and see all of my friends that I haven't seen and tell them how much they really do mean to me.

Do me a favor.
Tell those you love that you do.
Send a quick email, text or call to those you miss.
Who knows what's going on in their lives?
It may mean everything to them.

don't mind the marshmallows

Huh? you say.

That's what I'm calling my little, white, pasty legs.
I ~gasp~ wore shorts today!
This is one of my greatest fears, to wear shorts.
Thankfully, there was NO ONE at the gym this morning.
This made it slightly more comforting.
I did, however, have to hit the post office afterwards.
A woman made my day by calling, "Awesome socks!" and smiling and giving the thumbs up as I went into the post office.
It's the little things that make me happy throughout the day.

My usual perplexed face.
I have no idea why I do this when I take pictures of myself, lol.
As in typical female fashion, my legs are taking a long time to get there.
Patience and consistency, right?

Also, I thought I would share this little post from Little b's healthy habits

It's called "Having it all figured out."
It's awesome because my awesome workout buddy, T, and I were just talking about this two days ago, fo true!
I was even talking about doing some experimenting with my diet and meal plans.
What great timing for her to bring up the exact same topic?

On a side note, darn these wildfires.
Our friends, where we go every weekend to work on the Peanut, moved all of their animals yesterday.  They were told to anticipate evacuating. =(
Keeping everyone in my thoughts and praying for some much needed, saturating rain.

Wednesday, Wha?!

So, instead of a "What I ate Wednesday" or any of that other stuff, I decided to pull out a Wednesday Wha?!
Yeah.
It's like, this is NOT what I see when I look in the mirror at myself.
I think that I have a little body dis-morphia.
Dis-morphia, in the sense that, I see me as bigger and more cut than what shows up in my pictures.
This is why on SO many of my "selfies" that you see me with a crazy perplexed look on my face, lol.

Friday Fun

This morning was so lovely that I decided to take my cardio outdoors instead of to the gym.

This was my super workout partner today.

He forces me to go faster than I would normally.
Plus, he just makes me smile.

Now, I'm going to chill and look up some recipes and make some meals to pack for our weekend excursion to the country to work on the Peanut!
Have an amazing weekend!!

Random Me in the Gym Pic

It's been a while since I posted a gym shot.
In fact, it's been a bit since I've taken any selfies at the gym.
So, I figured, why not post them for fun?

Sad Panda, abs over a year since I competed.
They're in there somewhere!

What a weekend of awesome!

There was no country time this weekend.
Why?

This was the first time since 2007 that Denver has had a Pro Show.
We were excited to go watch.
There were only 2 Fitness competitors. =(
One was obviously doing this for a long while.
She was amazing with the same being said about her physique.
The other reminded me of me last year.
It seemed like her first time, and her physique wasn't bad at all, but compared to the other girl, well, ya know, no comparison.  I wanted to find her and tell her to just keep going and not be discouraged.  It's hard standing next to someone like that.

May I also just say that I was enamored and loving all the Masters Women's Divisions.
Those ladies rocked and looked awesome.
Go 40+ gals!!!

Here's my new confession.  I am infatuated with the Physique category now.
It was my first time getting to watch.
I love that they do routines.  All were so varied and amazing.
The bonus was they did not have to do those moves required in the Fitness category.
My mind is somewhat debating putting this as a goal in the future.
Could this old lady get into physique next year?
Hmmmmmmm....

So, the Pro's?!
~faint~
So flippin' amazing!!
There were a couple of Colorado gals which made us cheer and scream and whistle our little hearts out.
You can read more at NPC News Online.

Sara Hurrle was the big winner.

Pssst, this is who I have been working with lately to get me back on course.
Needless to say, T and I were ecstatic!

What an amazing night and show!
Definitely gave me some inspiration.

Sunday, was another day of fun!

We weren't going to go at first, because we saw the line wrapped around the Convention Center.  However, we got in line and decided to wait and see how it moved.
Luckily, it wasn't bad at all and moved pretty quickly.

Oh the bliss of vendors and independent artists mixed with the Geek Elite!
I walked about spotting the Shat, George Tekai, Wil Wheaton, and J. August Richards to name a few.
I got this great tee from Binary Winter Press, which will be altered with my unique flare.

And we picked up numerous graphic novels and comics from independent artists we found compelling.

I was beat, but so loved my weekend of nerding out to fitness and Comicon!
